What kind of server is Midkemia?
Midkemia is an MCMMO survival server running paper. The gameplay on the server is aimed at keeping mostly true to vanilla Minecraft while adding some essential quality-of-life improvements. You’ll have access to a bunch of fun tools that don’t take the challenge out of the game in any meaningful sense, but serve to keep things interesting, fun, and practical.
Are there minigames or events?
The server does not focus on minigames. The goal is to keep as close to a vanilla experience as possible, within reason. Events happen from time to time but are not a staple of the server, and there is some “arena” or “minigame” functionality baked in to certain limited areas.
Do I need to worry about griefing?
Generally, no. The server uses the Lands plugin to manage land claims which will protect your builds and containers (among many other useful features) on your claimed land. Unclaimed Wilderness, however, is essentially a free-for-all where griefing and PVP are allowed with few restrictions.
I’m not 18+. Can I still join?
This server is 18+. The only exceptions are children (13+) of current members. If your parent is a member, they will need to contact admin for your guest whitelist approval. Certain functionalities are limited (chat, permissions, etc.) for any juvenile guest.
When I join, can I invite friends?
Not directly. Your friends would still need to submit a whitelist request and list you as a player reference. Chances are good that if you’re a member, your friends can become member’s too.
Do I need to pay for perks?
No. All plugins and game-enhancing abilities are free to use based on a ranking system. The higher your rank, the more tools you have access to. Ranks are gained through playtime, mob kills, and MCMMO skill advancement. Donators will receive access to cosmetic enhancements such as colored texts in chat, cosmetic armors, hats, and personal chat channel creation.
